Back In the Saddle! (or New Beginnings)

Wow! What a difference a few years makes! I look through all my previous entries in this blog and I was not a very happy person. A few years, some life altering experiences later, and I am, I believe, on a much better level in my life. Some major events since my last entry include
  • Reconnecting with my high school best friend
  • Undergoing surgery and radiation for cancer
  • Reconnecting with my husband
  • Quitting my part-time job
Now? I am currently working part-time as I recover from the surgery and radiation. I had this huge lump in my right knee that turned out to be a rare tumor called 'Giant Cell Tumor of the Tendon Sheath', GCTTS for short. Chemotherapy is not effective, so radiation it was. Yesterday was my last day of treatment.

All of this has led me to take a closer look at my life and realize that I seemed to be complaining about things that were within my control while blaming other for things that were beyond anyone's control. So, now I am working on changing my outlook. To that end I've picked up some hobbies I used to do pre 2002.
  • Reading (I even joined a reading circleon Facebook!)
  • Beadwork
  • Cross stitch
  • Basketweaving (a new hobby I picked up last year)
Some commitiments I've made to myself this year are as follows
  • Start a Bucket List
  • Start executing my Bucket List
  • Reconnect with my husband
  • Continue blogging
Only time will tell whether I can meet my goals. But I'm going to try!

More to come!
